What Our Customers Say
Scott was excellent when he came to Steris to deliver the fire safety training. The session had a great balance between theory and practical elements, which kept everyone engaged throughout. He regularly asked questions and encouraged participation, making the training interactive and easy to follow. He explained the key points clearly and related them well to real workplace situations, which made the information more practical and relevant. The practical elements helped reinforce the learning and ensured everyone felt confident in what to do in the event of a fire.
1st choice safety were brilliant, really enjoyable fire marshall training. Engaging and informative. Brings safety home! Recommended for all employers
Interesting course well presented. Great safety day at work, trainers very knowledgeable and professional.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Scott Mathie and 1st Choice Safety Training & Consultancy for over 10 years across multiple sites, including my time as EHS Manager at Crown / Eviosys In Braunstone Leicester, EHS Manager at Britvic’s Rugby Plant and now at Cadbury Bournville. Their support has been invaluable in helping us maintain high safety standards across a wide range of areas.
1st Choice has delivered everything from Fire Risk Assessments—including for the largest bottling and canning plant in Europe—to Face Fit Testing, and extensive training for our Emergency Response Teams and wider staff. Courses have included Confined Space, Working at Height, Fire Marshal (including live fire practicals), First Aid at various levels, Accident Investigation, Manual Handling, Mental Health First Aid, and bespoke Site Scenario Days for all of our staff whereby the provided multiple trainers at the same time to do a round robin of brilliant sessions.
The process of working with Scott and his team has always been smooth, professional, and enjoyable. Their trainers are knowledgeable, engaging, and consistently receive excellent feedback from our staff. The training is practical, relevant, and tailored to our operational needs.
I would highly recommend 1st Choice Safety Training & Consultancy to any organisation looking for reliable, high-quality safety training and consultancy services.
