Our Residential Care Home Fire Training course is aimed at the care/nursing home environment, ensuring safety and compliance.

Course Description
Care homes present high fire risks due to vulnerable residents, the use of flammable materials, and complex evacuation needs. Staff must be fully prepared to act quickly and safely in an emergency.
At 1st Choice Safety Training & Consultancy, we deliver specialist fire safety training for care homes, tailored to meet the unique challenges of this environment. Our courses are led by experienced firefighters and focus on practical, hands-on learning.
We also offer live fire training using a gas-powered fire simulator, giving staff the opportunity to use real extinguishers in a safe, controlled setting, building confidence and understanding of fire response.
This training course can be tailored to your requirements and additional elements such as Evacuation Chair or Evacuation Mattress training can be added to the session.
All training complies with current health and safety regulations, helping your care home meet legal obligations and improve resident safety. Certificates are provided for all participants upon completion.

Other Information
- Certificate Renewal:
We recommend re-training every 3 years as a maximum. You may however be required to carry out training more frequently depending on the risk assessment or insurance for your property. - Max Delegates:
There is no minimum group size, we do however look to have a suggested maximum of around 12 – 16 people. We can cater for larger groups, to do this we can provide further trainers.
We have employed the services of 1st Choice Safety Training & Consultancy for around 8 years to carry out the Fire Training to all of our staff.
They provided 3 levels of training, Fire Awareness for all staff, Fire Marshal for those tasked with this role and Incident Leader training for our Senior Managers to administer a real situation. All with live fire practical training.
Feedback has always been brilliant, our staff love the fact that our training will be provided by experienced Firefighters meaning our staff can learn from their vast experiences.
We have also utilised 1st Choice for site Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Door Inspections and have helped to implement new fire strategies and plans.
